I have been asked many times “what do you do at Outreach”.  Oh my where to start. I guess I will start with the beginning of the week; Monday 2pm- Bingo, open to anyone that likes to play bingo; Tuesday – closed (2nd and 4th bus trips leave from Outreach going to various spots in the area) Wednesday – Gently Stretching Exercise at 12:30; Thursday – game day 1:30,  if you like to play cards or board games come join us we are looking for people who are bored sitting at home and like to socialize, also at 5:30 we offer Tai Chi ; Friday – closed.

That takes care of the days now on the 1st and 3rd Thursday nights at 6:30 we meet to do knitting/crocheting/crafts. If you want to learn to knit or crochet, are working on a project and just want to socialize while doing it come join us. We help each other with dropped stitches, learning how, etc. If you enjoy another craft bring it and show us what you are doing we are always interested in learning something new.

On the 2nd and 4th Monday at 6:30 we quilt/sew. Again, if you want to learn, are having difficulty with something, come join us, someone will have an answer for you. We enjoy helping others and seeing what they are doing.

Extras, we offer make-it-take-it classes on Saturdays or some evenings to make jewelry, memorial beads has been popular lately (beads from funeral flowers to remember a loved one)   anything you are interested in let me know and I will find someone that can teach how to do it.

We have family game nights where families come and we play games, have refreshments (of course) and just have fun. You can’t believe how competitive some of these families can get.

The main thing is we want to get people together, have fun, and even learn something new.  For more information on any of these activities call 309-928-9400 or stop by Outreach and speak with Sharon.
